Joining

The roleplay is based off the Bottlenose Brigade from the underwater adventure Turning the Tide. Lots of this is based off an old AJ roleplay that I used to do. Every once in awhile, a new quest will be posted that you can complete to progress the storyline and earn rewards of in-game gems and XP. However, you can also interact with other areas, such as go digging for treasure at Crayfish Cove, get your weapons repaired in the Blacksmith's Forge, and craft new items with your materials in the Crafting Pit.
During roleplay, you will explore Jamaa and fight off enemies while also experiencing random events, such as items out of your inventory being stolen, finding random items, or your armor/weapons/tools breaking.
The roleplaying aspect operates in a Dungeons and Dragons style of storytelling, where you will input your action and the outcome will be determined based on hidden stats.

Character Creation

Before you actually join the roleplay, you must first create your character. This will be the character you will use at all times during the roleplay. If your character dies, they can be ressurected once before you have to create a new character (note: you will not lose any levels if this happens and you will be able to pick up where you left off in the quest lineup, but you will lose all items that are not key items.)
Your character can be any underwater animal in Animal Jam with any colours/items on it, but we would prefer if you didn't use a boring colour scheme like all black and white. If your character is a soldier, they must be a dolphin and their design must follow the colour code of their appropriate squad (see Squads).

Character Classes

After you design your character, you get to choose what class you want them to be. Your class will change the way that your character will operate during roleplay, as each different class has different abilities, powers, strengths, and weaknesses. You can currently choose from 6 different classes - soldier, blacksmith, healer, officer, mystic, and scrapper. Read about each class and what items they get to start off below.

Soldier - You are a Bottlenose soldier, a standard combat unit of the Bottlenose Brigade. You excel at attacking and playing offense, and your powers are fully utilized with the assistance of an officer or a healer. You fight with a fine stone trident, your back protected by a piece of lionfish armor. You're a general offense unit who is great at attacking the enemy.
Starter Pack: Trident, Brigade Armour, 300 Gems
Please note: Dolphins are the only animal that can be soldiers, but you can still have a dolphin character who isn't a soldier.

Blacksmith - You are an expert craftsman who stays around to repair the equipment of soldiers and create new and better pieces of architecture for the Brigade. You occasionally follow your allies into battle so that you can repair their weapons and armour on-sight and help them fight. You're a general support character who can give your team repairs and small buffs.
Starter Pack: Hammer, Wrench, Scrap Metal (x4), 300 Gems

Healer - You are a medical unit who treats the wounds and injuries of soldiers after they return from combat. Sometimes you decide to accompany the fleet of warriors when they go off so that you can deliver medical attention on the spot, however, you will fight back if you need to. All your abilities center around treating the wounds of your allies. You're a general support character who can give your team massive heals and small buffs.
Starter Pack: Cheap Cutlass, Antidote, Bandage (x2), 300 Gems

Officer - You are a back line worker of the Brigade who is always on top of battle plans and soldier training. Even though you don't do much fighting yourself, you accompany the attackers into battle to give them buffs and make sure they don't do anything stupid. Your priority in a team fight is backing up the damage dealers and giving them the support they need to destroy the enemy. You're a general support character who can give your team massive buffs and occasionally deal damage in small doses.
Starter Pack: Royal Shield, Cheap Cutlass, 300 Gems

Mystic - You're what the soldiers consider the "odd one" of the Brigade. You're a skilled warlock who can use the power of the spirit world against your enemies. You carry a spellbook that allows you to assist your allies and confuse your enemies. You are heavily reliant on your spells and abilities, but you have to be sure to use them wisely. You're an all-rounding unit who can deal significant damage, but also buff and heal your allies.

Scrapper - You're a rather unsophisticated one. You're an ex-con who used to work with a nasty gang of brigands, but you have since reformed and stuck around to help the Jamaasian Navy. However, your lusting for mayhem still carries over into your fighting style, which heavily relies on strategically placing traps, shooting your enemies from afar, tricking and confusing your enemies, and the occasional use of pyrotechnics and bombs. You're a stealthy offense unit who likes to wreak havoc from the shadows, but you can be fragile without any backup.

The rank you choose will greatly affect your performance in the roleplay as well as the powers and abilities you are able to learn (see the Training Dojo page). Please note that once you create your character, you cannot change their rank unless they die and you choose not to ressurect them.

Squads

There are 4 soldier squads inside the brigade, each of which has a captain. These captains lead the brigade together. The squads are Stygian, Kelpian, Aquian, or Romantian. Each squad can be told apart from their colours, markings, and armour.
Whatever squad you're in doesn't affect anything except for your design, so just pick whichever one you like the colors of most. Keep in mind that your dolphin character will not be in a squad and won't have to follow these colors if they are not a soldier.

Use the chart below as a dress code for what markings, colours, and armour you should use to make your soldier's look. This does not apply to other animals or dolphins that are not soldiers.
